where’s EMBOSS for Ubuntu feisty?

January 30, 2008 at 10:50 am (ubuntu) ()

Gosh computer migration is such a headache I still regularly find that I have forgotten how to install this program or the other..

EMBOSS is a set of handy applications which I can’t live without imagine my amazement to find that its missing for amd64 feisty.

and the source will not compile. (perhaps due to lack of csh?)

anyway i solved the problem by using Ubuntu Hardy’s EMBOSS package.

you will need the following debs from Hardy

  • emboss_5.0.0-2_amd64.deb
  • libajax5_5.0.0-2_amd64.deb
  • emboss-data_5.0.0-2_all.deb
  • libnucleus5_5.0.0-2_amd64.deb
  • emboss-lib_5.0.0-2_amd64.deb

plus csh

get them here http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/science/emboss
